Our Commitment Continues: ViaQuest Hospice is Now Cairo Hospice

We are excited to share a significant moment in our story: ViaQuest Hospice is now Cairo Hospice. This new name marks the beginning of a new chapter for our organization, but it does not change the heart of who we are. For the families we serve, our people, our compassion, and our steadfast purpose remain the same.

This change is more than just a name; it’s a renewal of our promise to the community. Our journey forward as Cairo Hospice is one rooted in faith, strengthened by family, and dedicated to a legacy of love. It’s a reflection of our belief that caring for others is a calling, not just a profession.

In this announcement, we want to reassure you that what matters most is not changing. We will walk you through what this new chapter means and reaffirm our unwavering dedication to providing compassionate, dignified care to every patient and family we are privileged to serve.

A New Name, The Same Heart

While our name is new, our core identity is unchanged. The same dedicated nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers who were part of ViaQuest Hospice are the foundation of Cairo Hospice. We understand that trust is built through connection, and the familiar, caring faces you have come to know will continue to be there for you and your loved ones.

Our mission has always been to honor life and provide comfort in the hardest moments. This transition to Cairo Hospice strengthens that resolve. We remain a family-owned organization that sees every person we serve as an extension of our own community. The values of empathy, respect, and dignity that have guided us for years will continue to light our path forward.

Rooted in Faith, Family, and Purpose

Our identity as Cairo Hospice is deeply connected to our core beliefs. We believe that faith provides a powerful source of comfort and strength during life’s final chapter. This transition allows us to more fully embrace our mission as a service-driven, faith-based organization, ensuring that our care for the spirit is as gentle and profound as our care for the body.

Being family-owned means we are not accountable to shareholders; we are accountable to you. Every decision we make is guided by a simple question: What is best for our patients and their families? This approach allows us to provide a level of personalized, heartfelt care that truly honors every individual’s journey. We see our work as a sacred calling to serve others with love and grace.

Continuity of Care You Can Trust

For the families currently in our care, we want to be perfectly clear: your services will continue without any interruption. Your hospice team remains your hospice team. Your contacts, your schedule, and your plan of care will not change. The transition to Cairo Hospice is happening seamlessly in the background to ensure a smooth and worry-free experience for you.

The care we provide is built on a foundation of trust and reliability. Our nurses will continue to provide the expert symptom management and compassionate support families rely on, and our teams will keep coordinating every aspect of care. The services you receive, from routine home care to continuous care, will proceed exactly as planned, consistent with the four levels of hospice care defined by Medicare.

We are truly excited for the future and what this new chapter holds. We believe this change will empower our team to serve our communities with an even greater sense of purpose and dedication. Our story started here, and our exceptional care stays here, with the people and community we love.

If you have any questions at all about this transition, our values, or our services, please know that our team is here for you. You can reach us directly at +1 (614) 910-2662. We are available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Same people. Same heart. Same calling. New name.

Our Story Started Here. Our Care Stays Here.

General Inpatient Care (GIP)

Covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and many private insurance plans, this level involves moving you to a contracted hospital, hospice house, inpatient unit, or specialized nursing facility bed. This is used for acute symptom management that cannot be effectively achieved in your home setting, with treatment strictly focused on symptoms related to your hospice diagnosis, demonstrating our determination in ensuring optimal comfort and peaceful transitions.

Inpatient Respite Care (IRC)

Provided at a contracted nursing facility for up to five days, Inpatient Respite Care offers temporary relief for your primary caregiver—giving them the rest they need while ensuring you receive continuous expert hospice care. This level of care offers pure relief and peace of mind for families.

Continuous Home Care (CHC)

When a patient experiences a period of crisis with severe symptoms (such as uncontrolled pain or acute shortness of breath), Continuous Home Care can be provided. This involves a higher level of skilled nursing care delivered continuously in the home for a short period (typically 8-24 hours per day) until the crisis is resolved, showcasing our team’s resolute commitment and dedication to restoring comfort and stability.

Routine Home Care (RHC)

This is the most common level of hospice care, provided in the patient’s chosen residence—your own home, a nursing facility, an assisted living facility, or a hospice house. It includes intermittent visits from our hospice team (nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, volunteers) to provide symptom management, personal care, emotional support, and education for caregivers, delivered with gentle guidance and a focus on maximizing daily comfort and quality of life in familiar surroundings.
